How to unblock a bath

A blocked bath or shower drain is one of the most common problems you’ll come across in the everyday use of your bathroom.  this will cause a slippery build-up of soap scum, dirt and grime on the bottom of the bath or shower tray that could be unsightly or even dangerous. Whichever form your pesky blockage has taken, it needs fixing.

Causes of blocked bath
There are many factors that contribute to  blocked Baths and here are the most common of them. The most common material that causes a blockage are a build up of hair or soap residue.  hair build up in the pipe can start by reducing flow then eventually cause a complete blockage
Other factors can contribute to causing a blocked Bath and these can be in different forms. Some examples are, build up of  lime scale, poorly fitted pipe or the wrong type or diameter of pipe work. Due to  size and location of bathroom pipe work  pipes are not fitted with enough flow to reduce build-ups.
HOW TO UNBLOCK bath DRAINS?
Some people advise putting drain unblocker, a vinegar and baking soda combination, bleach, dish washing soap or a range of other chemicals down the bath to try to clear the blockage. But Thames Valley Drains  don’t recommend using any harmful substances and will never use these our self.
